DESCRIPTOIN

Rise of the Skeleton Armyis the debut album oflocal Nashville Thrash/Death Metal band,Dead Alive, released to streaming onOctober 29th of 2021.
Dead Aliveis the creativebrainchild of the band’s skeletal corpsepaint-wearingfrontman, “Count Scapula.”Inspired by cult classic horror movies andthemetal culture surrounding once underground bandsof the 70s and 80s, the Count orchestrated this8-song LP around thethemes and imagery of the skeleton monster.
Dead Alive formed initially in 2015 after departing playing guitar from a local modern rock band on his way to Illinois for college.The Count and his co-guitarist from that band “Manthing” wanted to make metal music “you could feel in yourbones,” writing an early draft of the album’s 2nd track.
It wouldn’t be until 2017, when the Count returned to Nashville, thathe and Manthing completed the 7 demo tracks of “Rise of the Skeleton Army”; and not until 2020 when the Count found the last two musicians for Dead Alive’s current lineup, “Soul Taker” and“V”, and recorded the album at the studio, wired for sound, that fall.
Being described as, “apowerful hidden work reminiscent of the US underground thrash around ’85!,“Rise of the Skeleton Armyutilizes ablend of metal styles from black, death, doom, groove, thrash, andhorror punk – to reinforce the metal, horror, cinematic journeyof the albumfrom beginning to the end.
